"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die"Thomas Campbell

This memorial website was created to remember Michael Troy Wentland who was born February 28, 1985 and passed away on October 15, 2006. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Lord as I stumble through this life,

Help me create more laughter than tears,

Dispense more happiness than dispair,

Never let me grow so big that

I fail to see the wonder in the eyes of a child

Or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.

My work here is to cheer people up,

Make them happy, and make them laugh,

Make them forget, at least for a moment,

All the unpleasant things in their lives.

And in my final moment,

May I hear you whisper:

"When you made my people smile,

You made me smile."

Wow has time passed and things have changed, but the one thing that doesnt fade is the memories I gained, I moved to the Westfield school district in my 5th grade year, It was new atmosphere, 7th and 8th grade basketball, football out in the parking lot, I remember a time when the Oxford School dance got canceled because of some crazy fight that was supposed to happened. Or when we picked teams for current events with Mr. Lueck, Mrs. Vannetta lecturing everyone to read their novels for class descussion the next, and Jason Shultis would read the whole book in one night and come back to class and tell us all about the book, and Mrs. Vannetta would get all Irate about it. So many memories from 5th to 8th grade, that I regret moving away, Mike, you were one tough guy, the genuine class clown, You and Eddie always had some funnys going on, Your a friend that will always be missed!
R.I.P

May the lord let you walk upon the clouds with sun upon your face and the wind against your back, Let the ocean breeze put you at ease, One day we will all reunite, Till then friend I will see you again.
Sincerely Alex M. Arista

I was telling stories the other day of when we were all kids in school, and I was remembering this one from 6th grade in Mrs. Peterson's class. She rearranged the desks so they were in groups of four and mike and I were in the same group but in the back of the room. Mrs. Peterson was giving her lecture and we weren't paying attention, instead we were making spit balls and shooting them across the room with a plastic ruler. Mike dared me to make a giant one and shoot in at the window, so I made this huge spit ball, put it at the end of the ruler, and when the teacher wasn't looking I shot it at the window, but instead of the window it hit the wall above the filing cabinets and just stuck there. Mike and I couldn't stop laughing. We were laughing so hard, we were crying. Mrs. Peterson just gave us that look but didn't see the spit ball. It was on the wall for almost a month and everytime we saw it we just laughed. Thats one of my favorite memories growing up with Mike. He was always so fun to be around and will be missed always!! :)

So for the last month I have been doing this little girls basketball dribble camp and I kept seeing the cutest girl there. I couldn't get enough of her. Then tonight they were going to perform a routine at half time and I saw Jordan and your sister there and i couldn't figure out why. I didn't know who they were there for. Then I saw them talking to this girl and her name was emily....it made sense. I still have the picture you gave me of her when she was a baby with the biggest cheeks when she was by a tree. I couldn't believe it. SHE IS SO BIG! After the performance I went to go change back into my cloths and I started to cry. Its the little things like that Mike that make me think of you. I miss you....we all do. Love you

Mike was a very dear friend of someone I use to date. I remember Mike with a laugh that no one will ever forget, and a kind heart. He is loved by many and remembered by everyone he talk too. I remember Mike for one specific reason that i like to keep personal but he will always be in my heart and Thank you Megan for doing all that you do to keep Mikes memories alive. Kindness never dies. And we all know that Mike was made up of tons more than that. xoxo
